The US Government supported the Mujahadeen against the Soviets in Afghanistan and Iraq in the Iran-Iraq war. We supported the Shah of Iran, whose iron fisted tactics fomented the Islamic revolution. Everything that the US government has tried to do has blown back into its face!

The Big Government Leviathan is the problem, not the solution! CIA, FBI & INS are so bloated that they could not share information relating to 9-11, possibly preventing it. That is why Bush Junior is obstructing an independent investigation.

Had the Feds not prohibited the airlines from arming their pilots and/or allowing concealed carry permit holders from having guns on aircraft, 9-11 would probably not have happened! Future hijackers will never use the same method again. The new Federal airport security measures are just window dressing to calm the sheeple into thinking that Uncle Sam is taking care of them.

If the average citizen realized that Big Brother cannot and will not keep them safe and secure, they may come to the conclusion that Big Brother is no longer needed! That would be a catastrophe.

No more billion dollar defense budgets. We could re-discover the non-interventionist foreign policy of our founding fathers, bringing all US troops home from abroad. No more Empire! The federal government would have to return to its Constitutional size and function of protecting life, liberty and property; nothing more!

Your Israeli friend was right, if governments were not in the way the Jews and Arabs might be able to live in peace. The state of Israel can defend themselves and the cost of US Government support is to too much to bear, in both blood and money.

US citizens should in no way be hindered from supporting Israel, but government aid has got to stop.

Excellent article, I hope that many of the neo-con war hawks will read it. Keep up the good work. I love the new radical tone that Ether-zone has adopted this past year.
