Wind him up and make him perform. It’s election time in four months, time to bring back the arch villain that only George W. Bush and his henchmen can protect us from; time to put those meek and weak liberals in their place; time for our omnipotent leader to drag out his dire warnings and put fear into the hearts of Americans standing by with their flags, decals, and duct tape. Let’s all go to the lobby where we can get addresses of where to send money to repel this evil menace. Have faith. George will protect us.

You can see all the wonderful things President Bush has done after nineteen evildoers drove airliners into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon almost five years ago. Terrorists that came to our country, spent more than two years here in apartments and houses, opened bank accounts, got credit cards and drivers licenses, went to movies, watched television and went to our flight schools to learn how to steer big planes but not take-off or land them.

What has George done to make sure this doesn’t happen again? Why, he’s opened our borders even further so anyone with the desire to do so can come into America.  Millions have illegally crossed our borders in the last five years and have been gobbled up and protected by companies and individuals who want someone who will work for less than their American counterparts. And it’s estimated that forty percent of the people who come here legally overstay their visas and become part of this vast underground pool of cheaper labor.

It can even be argued that this vast pool of slave labor has helped keep businesses from relocating overseas, companies that might otherwise have moved out long ago. Without this cheap labor, companies like Tyson Foods could raise chickens anywhere and might have moved to India long ago just as Microsoft has done.

In point of fact, we probably would not be dealing with this immigration problem if the citizens of America had not found out that our ports were being managed by the British and that they were about to sell out to a state owned Arab company from Dubai. The deal had already been rubber stamped by Congress.

That deal would have gone through if Dubai hadn’t decided to back out. Now, the same sellout is being offered to companies from Oman, but the loyal news people haven’t publicized this fact yet, nor did they publicize the fact that Congress turned right around and allowed the sale of four or five of our defense contractors to companies from the Arab Emirates.

George and his gang are arguing for “comprehensive reform” of immigration, but they have yet to enforce the laws already on the books, laws that would allow them to fine and jail the heads of companies and individuals that hire these border breakers.

Illegal immigrants themselves not only demonstrate and argue for “rights” as lawbreakers, but have a substantial argument that our permissiveness over the last few decades, our willingness to accept them and turn our backs on our own immigration laws, sets a precedent we cannot deny. It’s like a child screaming that you let him do it yesterday, so why are you threatening to punish him today.

Reforming the intelligence network and building the office of Homeland Security hasn’t solved our open border problem has it? Our borders, ports, and coastlines leak like sieves. And this is how the infamous nineteen were able to do what they did five years ago.

Not only do we still not have a way to keep track of legal immigrants effectively, but we are not leveling fines of say a thousand dollars for each “illegal” hired, which would take away the cheap labor profit motive, and we have yet to jail a single corporate figure for hiring them. Put a few CEOs, corporate presidents, and “human resource” managers in jail for a month and it would take away the incentive to illegally break our borders in jig time. If they can’t work here, they won’t come. But Congress will not buck big business or the hundreds of lobbyists that represent them.

Oh, we may make token efforts by publishing the fact that some politician or political wannabe hired illegal baby-sitters or gardeners without submitting payroll taxes, even raid a few companies now and then, but there is not the concerted effort that would immediately put an end to illegal immigration and cause most “illegals” to go home on their own.

The propaganda today is that “our economy requires” slave labor. And Congress has refused to raise the minimum wage since 1996 when increases should be tied to cost-of-living indexes.

You could take almost any group of five or six Americans and ask them why we need a federal government at all. Quickly or eventually the consensus would be “to provide for the common defense” as stipulated in the Constitution.

Ask yourself, what George W. Bush has done in the last five years to stop so-called terrorists from again entering our country.

Instead, the neocons in Congress and the administration are accusing the New York Times of treason for saying the same thing Bush himself said immediately after 9/11 and in his State-of-the-Union address in 2002. If that isn’t hypocrisy, what is?

And now, in another attempt to divert attention, the spinmeisters are dragging Osama ben Laden, the fanatic we haven’t been able to find in five years, a man who lives in caves with a dialysis machine, back into the picture to frighten us with speeches we can only hope are translated accurately.

If you swallow the propaganda that we’ve taken the battle to him by invading and occupying the hapless republic of Iraq, making it into the battleground with al Qaeda, and that they can’t afford to send another group to our shores the way we send “special ops” forces into Iran, then you deserve the invaders that are being permitted to take over our country.

Wake up, it’s Bush and his gang that are leading you astray again. As it says in the Preamble to the Constitution: “…whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
