ACCOUNTING FOR GREED
RECOGNIZE THE BIGGEST CROOKS
A government $6.1 trillion in debt, recently telling us that authorizing more debt was the responsible thing to do, is criticizing and punishing corporations and corporate leaders for misleading their stockholders and causing serious loss of investor confidence at home and abroad.

A government that keeps a set of "on budget" and a set of "off budget" books is accusing publicly held corporations of double bookkeeping.

A government that defrauds workers of 16 percent of their retirement, health care, and other entitlement money, and then double bills the public for the same funds plus interest, is accusing companies in the private sector of losing much of their employee's retirement money.

A government that exchanges cash contributions for debt, putting contributors more than 130 percent in the hole, is accusing private companies of bringing stockholder investments merely to zero. Compare that with the Social Security trust fund today standing at 21.6 percent of the national debt because we gave them surplus money.

A government that defines a deficit as resulting from a need to borrow from public investors and completely ignores borrowing (stealing) from entitlements to make up for the same shortfall is accusing private companies of hiding debt.

A government that accuses private companies of insider trading, outsider attendance at board meetings, and so forth, is still stonewalling its own Government Accounting Office (GAO) that has legally sued for the release of the minutes of their own recent energy crisis meetings and who attended.

A government that debates issues of reform for years with little or no intention of changing the simplest elements now wants immediate action to correct and punish corporate malfeasance.

A government that is more corrupt than those it presumes to judge has no right to forcibly impose its will on private enterprise or other nations.

It's time for the stockholders of this nation to act. It's time to take back our country.

More than half of the eligible citizens of this country have already expressed their disgust and disillusionment by refusing to vote. A two party cult system has effectively locked out any hope of having more than a choice between the lesser of two evils. A choice that's becoming more and more difficult to distinguish, with the vast majority hoping for little more than keeping the government off its back.

Burying your head in the sand is not going to change things. It's time to hold the individual elected officials and bureaucrats accountable for their actions and inaction. There is still time to do this peaceably.
