PORT SELLOUT
DEAL OR NO DEAL? |

Are we a capitalist society or not? Am I missing something here? The way I see it, neither an Arab company nor a British company should be managing our ports. American ports should be managed by Americans, not just for security purposes but because there’s a profit to be made. Did the British Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O) take over management of twenty-one of our East and
Is DP World, the state owned company from the
Take the terrorist controversy out of the picture and what have you got? After all, both DP World and our politicians assure us that security will still be in the hands of our Homeland Security or some other local and federal bunglers who haven’t been able to inspect more than four or six percent of the incoming containers. No doubt, our representatives and appointees in Washington have assured the Arabs that security will remain pretty much the way it is, will not be their problem, or that even if we inspect every container offloaded it will not slow down their operations so much they can’t make a profit. Would you buy a store or restaurant where every customer had to take off their shoes and undergo airport style scrutiny? Would it be in business long? Or is DP World really a corporate raider that intends to cut up its holdings and sell them off piecemeal? Does Halliburton already have bids in, or buyback agreements without open bidding? And why is P&O willing to sell? How many other ports in other countries are involved in this takeover? Who is managing our West Coast ports? Who besides the Arabs have seen the P&O profit and loss sheets? Aren’t we glossing over a bunch of questions here? Am I an isolationist for thinking that major infrastructure like our seaboard and ports ought to be in the hands of Americans whether there’s a profit motive or not? Wasn’t the
Is port management another industry that’s been compromised by unions and union demands for exorbitant benefits? Haven’t the longshoremen and dockworker unions been operating under the British P&O or have they negotiated settlements that preserve their influence even if it’s at the expense of the rank and file who still wait in line every day until the union straw bosses call some of them to work? I’m sorry folks, but this looks like nothing more than the latest example of the great sell-off of America. It’s another instance of the corrupt manipulation of individual opportunists who saw the chance to make a quick buck for themselves, their special interests, or short term advantage to their constituents with all of the back room insider treacherous trading typical of people who were born with silver spoons in their mouths or rose to celebrity status on the backs of election lies and pretenses, have seldom earned an honest dollar, and consider themselves above the law the elite and ivory tower untouchables. Bush says he wasn't aware of the deal until it became controversial. Do you believe that? He wasn't informed about Katrina's potential either. Now, we’ve got the HillBillary duo playing both sides of the fence like weapons dealers for their own personal aggrandizement, and we’ve got the Bush Dynasty Carlyle Group connection plus behind the shadows black sheep brother Neil of Colorado S&L fame reappearing tied to the Arabs where he lectures and gets financial support for his computer software company that holds contracts with the Head Start educational program. There’s just no end to the collusions for personal gain with more to come out in the open if the port controversy stays in the limelight. In this specific example, we’ve gone from a nation with protective tariffs on imports to a nation that allows anything and anyone to enter our country in the name of “free trade” and the New World Odor, the objective of which is to level the entire world’s work force until Middle Class America disappears and there are only a few at the top reaping the rewards of Empire. Our small population of workers will eventually have jobs only a step above wielding hoes in rice paddies. And you’ll need a college education for that. Prepare your children. Buy them big straw hats and coolie outfits. What else do you expect from a federal government that gives tax breaks to the rich while overtaxing anyone who earns a living honestly and then fraudulently and blatantly sets up phony trust funds and bogus securities that allow it to steal the people’s supplemental retirement Social Security insurance money? It’s not anything new. Lies, scams, human rights violations, and fear story propaganda have penetrated and dominated our entire two party political cult system from illegal invasions and torture to restrictions on freedom. The port sellout is just the latest example in a long series of similar contradictions. In another lesson from psychology 101, our esteemed leader, George W. Bush, can’t open his mouth without projecting his own personality and objectives especially when it comes to why terrorists are after us. And we’re going to tighten our borders and rebuild
