| While campaigners talk about saving it, remember that the only thing Social Security needs saving from is the government itself. A government that steals hundreds of billions from entitlements and calls it a "surplus." Whenever you hear politicians use the word "surplus" remember it's your stolen entitlement money they're talking about. Your excess Social Security, Medicare and gas tax money that they are discussing. Entitlement means that you should be getting what you paid for. You are entitled to it. They're calling it a surplus and spending it wherever they pleasejust as though you meant to hand it to them. A real surplus would be when they don't spend all the income tax money we give them yearly. Anything in this area is not expected until 2002, and then only small amounts. Want to bet on its happening? If it did happen, it would also mean that we were over taxed. Two lock-box bills passed the House of Representatives unanimously only to die in the Senate. One passed the House by a vote of 416 to 12, the other 422 to 2. Is the Senate the dead hand on progress and fiscal responsibility? Or are the Senators just getting ready to plunge forward tentatively? Al Gore and the Democrats claim they can pay off the national debt if you just let them continue stealing this money for another ten years or so. $5.7 trillion, that's how much they plan on stealing from Social Security, Medicare and a few other entitlements. Invested properly, how far would the $232 billion already stolen from Medicare have gone towards providing prescription drugs for the elderly? Bubba Bush got a plan from his daddy that sounds the same as the government's Thrift Savings Plan. It was the Reagan-Bush Administration that turned Social Security into a giant slush fund to plunder while his father helped put together a plan to let federal employees invest retirement money in the stock market and operate a real trust fund. Bubba doesn't understand it, but he'll go along with anything that will win him votes. What would happen if they held their big performance and nobody showed up? Instead of looking for something to distinguish one pawn from another, two peas in a pod called oligarchy, the vast majority of Americans just threw in the towel and didn't vote. Last national election, 52 percent of the eligible voters refused to vote. Others under-voted by picking only the candidates they knew and trusted, leaving the rest of the ballot blank. This time, there may be even more who feel that it doesn't make much difference who wins and not voting is the only effective voice of protest remaining. ............................................................Be advised VP Candidate Joseph Lieberman is a member of the Council On Foreign Relations (CFR), as are Dick Cheney and Al Gore. The only candidate not on the membership list is G.W. Bush Jr. who is a member by proxy. His grandfather, Prescott Bush, was a CFR pioneer while dad, George Sr., is a past president of the accursed cult. A cult whose aim is a one world government. With only 3000 members, it is clear that only CFR members and loyalists may become candidates for President. Last time around, the situation was the same. Gore, Dole and Clinton were CFR members. The story has been similar for the past two generations. What they've accomplished in the United States has worked so well they might as well apply it to the rest of the world. What possible reason is there for the major players in our elected government to belong to a club in New York City? A club that includes the major players in business, banking, the various media and Hollywood as well. I don't think it has much to do with a common interest in bridge, canasta, poker, chess, billiards or bowling, do you? |
